Day 1: Sunday 10 September 2017 - Arrive Port Moresby

Day 2: Monday 11th September 2017 - POM – Mt Hagen - Kegsugal PX180 8:30 POM HGU 09:30
Please make sure that you book domestic airfares above. Early morning transfer to Port Moresby Domestic terminal by hotel courtesy Coach. On arrival at Mt Hagen, group will be met by our PNG representative and transported to Mt Wilhelm Lodge, our accommodation for tonight. The drive is along a very rough road, and guests will more than likely be sitting on the deck of an open ute. This is the best place to view the spectacular scenery and conditions along the way in which the Highland people live. Accommodation: Lodge (Meals BLD)
Day 3: Tuesday 12 September 2017 - Lodge – Base Camp 3-4 hr leisurely hike
After a leisurely breakfast this morning the group starts their walk up to Base Camp. Taking time to acclimatise and enjoy the scenery, walking under the jungle canopy, spotting wild orchids and hopefully some bird life. Then out into a swampy fern lined valley up to the lakes where base camp is situated. Accommodation: Base Camp Hut (Meals BLD)

Day 4: Wednesday 13 September 2017 - Summit Mt Wilhelm-Descend to Lodge approx 13-14hrs
A long day ahead of the group today, after retiring early to bed the previous night, we will rise at mid night; have a cup of tea/coffee and light breakfast. Pack up gear which will be left in the hut. Start climbing Mt Wilhelm no later than 1am, should be peaking close to or just after sunrise. Take lots of breaks and climb at a steady pace to assist in acclimatisation. On reaching the summit make sure to take plenty of photos and absorb the views before beginning the long descent back to the Lodge. Stopping at Base Camp for a short period to have a hot drink and something to eat and then head down the hill back to the Lodge. This is an extremely long, hard physical day. DAY 5: Thursday 14 Sept 2017 Ground Transport Mt Wilhelm-Goroka

Day 6: Friday 15 September 2017 - Cultural Day
Today our adventure begins. Driving down through the fertile Asaro Valley, past coffee plantations, vegetable gardens, interplant with sweet potato, banana, taro cassava, sugar cane amongst the neatly laid out traditional homesteads. Arriving at Luhuka Village to witness the world famous Asaro Mudman Dance. Observe Village life of the Asaro Tribesmen, face painting, villagers prepare and cook a meal in the traditional earth oven “mumu” lunching with the villagers in the village. After this tour, we will drive out to Ketetya Village for Simbu Culture & Village Study in the central highlands of Papua New Guinea. We will visit the Central highlands Chief practising polygamy in Goroka displaying his wives, children’s, pigs, food etc. After this tour heading back to Lodge for dinner. Accommodation: Lodge (BLD)

Day 7: Saturday 16 September 2017 - Goroka Show Festivities
An early breakfast at 7:00 am departing 7:30 for Early Bird Tour, visit singsing groups from different provinces in their camps, we will be up close and personal seeing how their body decorations of colourful traditional costumes and very colourful face painting is done. Your guide will explain the different types of costumes and their significances in the cultures of these people. After the Early Bird Tour we will proceed into the Show grounds to witness thousands of warriors, all dressed in their very finest traditional regalia, dancing and singsings. Each group in their own culture with languages competing against each other. You will get the opportunity to mix with the dancers, shake hands and meet them. 1:30 – 2:00, the group will take a guided tour through a coffee Plantation for Coffee Processing and harvesting. Returning to your hotel late afternoon. This evening starting at 7pm is the Traditional Tumbuna Night (bamboo band playing and dancing during dinner). Picnic lunch at the show grounds. Day 8: Sunday 17 September 2017 - Goroka Show Festivities
This morning guests will enjoy another day at the festival arena. Take a boxed lunch to have at the show. Affter the festival which will finish around 3pm we will visit the McCarthy Museum located close to he festival grounds. Accommodation: Lode (BLD)
Day 9: Monday 18th September 2017 - Flights Goroka-POM PX163 03510-10:35 Transfer to International Airport
After breakfast at 7:00am, pick up form your hotel and transferred to airport. (B)
